The Journey

I have always felt that there is lot of parallelism between the journey of life and a train journey. Its like an event.:) If you would have travelled by Indian Railways you would definately agree. The train signifies the world moving at its own pace irrespective of whats happening within just like the earth revolves and rotates creating the time and space as the life of the scores of its inhabitants just moves on.People just join in and leave at various junctions.
We all board the train of life alone and keep meeting new people as we move along. However there are some people who are with you at the outset. The ones who were already aboard the train of life and the first set of people you meet is your immediate family. As the train progresses life moves ahead, new people join in, some leave. You share a different relationship with each of them as the span of association also varies. Some remain mere acquaintances while some leave you with life changing experiences.
The different stations denote the various phases in life. Its a cycle of various stages of happiness, pleasure, sadness, tragedy, esctasy, adventure, etc. Every station has something new to offer. Its not necessary that the ones you began your journey with will stay till the end. There is no end to life. Just an end to your journey but life moves on irrespective of what happens. Life moves on and its very essential that we move on too... no matter how much we would want to stay back with the memories or stages we want to hold onto forever :) Life doesnt give much choices afterall :) You either move with it or alight to start a different journey altogether.
Life has no destination. Its perpetual, moving towards infinity.
Its only the people who leave the the train of life at their respective destinations when their journey ends and the train drifts away from you as it disappears over the horizon as a little speck in the wide universe. You are not together anymore but there are string attached in the form of memories held on both sides.
There is much more common to both but guess need to stop somewhere. :) I think its better to quote the lyrics from a song.

Few words from one of my favourite songs perhaps encapsulates my thoughts in better words.

Jeevan toh gadi hai, Isko toh chalna hai,
Raahon mein station toh aate hai jaate hai
Kab tera station haim tujhko toh chalna hai
Chalta chal khushiyon ka bhi station aana hai :)

A story from Chicken Soup for the Indian Soul

Hariya
As is my habit, that morning too I stepped out onto our veranda to take in some air. Looking around, my glance fell on a bundle of green in a corner of the veranda. It was a parrot; its awkward twitching indicated that it was alive. Even as I approached it the parrot made no effort to move fly away. Parrots are intermittent visitors to our veranda but always skitter away if you get too near them. It was obviously wounded in some way. I picked it up.
By then I had been joined by my wife and children. Much was made of the unexpected visitor. My wife got her first-aid kit. It seemed to have some minor bruises but nothing of a serious nature. It allowed us to apply a gentle salve to its wounds.
The parrot ate some channa and drank some water. And made no effort to fly away.
I expect because of its bright green plumage we named it Hariya and it became a family pet. A cage was bought more to protect Hariya from predators than to keep him imprisoned. In fact, we often let him out of his cage, so he could fly away if he wanted. Hariya just didn't seem to want to. It was only after many days that we realised that he had never shown an urge to fly.
One day I took Hariya in my hands and gently examined him more thoroughly than we had ever done. To my horror I found that his wings had been stitched up with very fine plastic thread that was almost invisible to the naked eye. Someone had obviously taken great pains to ensure that Hariya couldn't fly.
Removing those threads was a very difficult task -- it took me a whole week because it had to be done gently and slowly. It was only Hariya's faith and confidence in me that allowed it to happen. As I removed the last dastardly thread, Hariya squawked and fluffed his suddenly freed wings. Then his neck swivelled around and he just stared at me. Hariya's eyes seemed to be shining.
That day Hariya made no effort to fly. He flexed his wings often, but that was about it.
The next day we released Hariya from his cage. For a few minutes he just strolled around the veranda. Then suddenly he squawked the loudest we had ever heard him do, and as we watched, his wings flared and he was flying. Hariya soared into the air.
A few days later, when I walked out into the veranda for my morning stroll, I found Hariya perched on the railing. Seeing me, he flew up, squatted on my shoulder and rubbed his head on my cheek.
Hariya is now an intermittent visitor to our house, going and coming as and when he pleases. He often brings along a friend or two.
My wife says it is a relationship of a previous birth. My smallest child, just four years old, says it is love.

What is LOVE!!!!!

This subject has been of utmost interest since ages and found its presence in various forms of arts as paintings, theatre, literature,poetry...

but can it be defined or can the feeling be put into words??? naaa... I dont think thats possible...

the feeling or emotion called love is soo deep, so strong, so powerful that its a difficult task to put it into words. As it is said the feeling is beyond words.. Perhaps we even havent truly understood what love means...

Love is universal. Knows no boundary as in distance, relation, situation. Love can be anywhere and one can fall in love with anybody. it can be people, animal, birds, nature, just anything. n most important of all its the purest feeling when it was created. Its sad that the word has been abused and throttled by HUMAN beings who possibly never tried to understand the word in its truest sense and never even took any efforts to do so. They just manipulated it for they own selfish reasons.Did everything they could in the name of LOVE

I have noticed many a times, what people often call LOVE is conditional or its part of some sort of a barter trade. ' Oh...I Love You so much FOR.....'

Love cant be traded. It can be only shared. its more about giving rather than receiving. If you ever love someone you would experience the joy of giving rather than receiving n understand the difference between the two. Love has to be selfless. We have to think beyond ourselves inorder to love others more than we love ourselves. A quote from a friend of mine. It is all about 'WE' and not 'ME'. and Love is what makes 'WE'.. its the binding factor. :)

Love can be silent. one doesnt need to express it everytime. it is a feeling which is to be understood. :)

there are some interesting thoughts about love shared by my friends...(excerpts from the discussion started by Rohit)

Rohit:

Hi Guys,I think this will be an interesting topic to yack on .. Can one survive on food air n water or does one really need true love.. I guess most of ur are blessed with true love so why not share ur thoughts abt this b`ful feeling ..... and if there is someting called TRUE LOVE how does one find out of so many which is the "D ONE "..:-)

Kalpana :

of course there is true love...n i have found it more than once..:P...yes we can survive on food, water n air....but thts all it'll be...a survival....to live u need love....u need something to hang on to whn life is cruel to u n pushes u down...if u ask me how to find it...will be lost here...coz i never went searching for true love....it found me....n it doesnt necesaarily have to be da love from ur partner...wat our parents shower on us is also true love na....wat i get frm my children is also true love....n since rohit asked it cupla days back in a thread...will answer it here aptly...my kinda guy...am a sucker for a guy who is not scared to show he cares (bel me, most of thm are)

Krithi:

I discovered true love when i realised the ppl around me accepted the way im ......i knew i wasnt doing that great or i knew i was bad ......still my near ones where there with me in my bad times . and we celebrated the gud times together .............thats when i felt the warmth of the word "love " ..................

Nisha:

Maslow's Theory ....:)
Love and belonging needs: When the individual's physiological and safety needs are met, needs for love and belongingness emerge. These needs include longings for an intimate relationship with another person as well as the need to belong to a group and to feel accepted. Maslow emphasized that these needs involve both giving and receiving love.

Me:

love just as air or water is essential to live ..... one of the many things but not the only thing..:) my opinion it is one of the most beautiful feelings or emotions created by god... if u r able to love then it means u r alive!!!.. no love=death ...:P.. love can be everywhere n anywhere.. i find it even in the strays around.. n dat is unconditional too.. :)....my dad always quotes..A Love loves a Love and a Hate hates a Hate... :)

One can go on writing on this topic till ages or pages :P.

so bubbye for now.. n yeah people.. Keep Loving....:) ....

RAIN !!! RAIN!!!

Rain Rain come again!!!!
:).. yipee cant wait for the rains...wishing to get drenched...feel the joy of the natural shower...the touch of the raindrops ...the sweet smell of the wet soil...the trees gleaming and shining....aahhh.. missing u rain... one of the amazing aspects of nature...

I have quiet a few memories of awesum rainy days.. n not so awesum ones as well.. (26th July 2005).. but still i cant stop loving it....

one such evening was with my boti gang...what a memorable day it was...one of the whacky stuff one doesnt get the opportunity to do time and again!!!!
all of us cooped up in the car n hoping for the rains onseeing the dark clouds cover the sky while we planned to meet another frnd... we pass the juhu beach n it starts raining!!!sudden change of plans...we decide to go to the beach.. leave our shoes in the car.. n walk barefooted towards the beach in the rain... giggling laughing...:)... it was amazing to be back in the water after what seemed like ages.. playing and splashing the water around like little kids...the ever giggling nishu...the bindasss vinu...the shy sachhu...chowma, pra n myself.. pulling friends into the water... realising these little things bring so much fun and happiness in our life.... little joys dat we forgot while we focussed on growing up...

so off goes the gang...in the same state... drenched to the core.. barefooted....feet covered with sand n off we go to mochas.. :).. being Just Ourselves.. :P..while the rest of the people out there were..'oh so prim and proper'. and we were in our messy best!!! As a perfect end to the wonderful evening we had the hot coffee and the choclate cake seemed divine!!!!

it feels great to just kick ur shoes off n embrace the rain...

next time it rains... try doing this.. open ur arms wide.... look up at the sky.. n smile :) ...trust me...its one of those.. best moments of life...which r very simple in nature.... :)

Kaashhhh!!!!!

Kaash!!! a word that has often intrigued me...A simple chhotusa word....but holds so many wishes, dreams, aspirations within those two syllables....

kaash.....aisa hota....

kaash...koi saath hota...

kaash....maine aisa kiya hota....

kaash maine keh diya hota.....

kaash aaj mai woh hota...

so many of them.... how many times in a day do we wish!!!!... at times wishing against hope... :)...

including regret at times..wishing to change things...wishing for the unachievable...

a small word that gives u the power...fulfills ur desire... so what if it isnt real.... in our dream world "kaash" lets us acheive everything ... imagine the kind of happiness we get by just thinking of the unattainable...

"Kaash" enables one to dream, to wish, to aspire for.....and empowers one to achieve!!!!!

My Beshtieeee!!!!!

So many thoughts... so much to say...so much to share...I am literally confused about which one should I blog about first....
So many incidents, so many crazy stuff, innumerous thoughts dat keep springing up,amazing people dat i have been blessed with in life, people who have amazed me, inspired me....
It quite a task to choose one of them but here it goes to that one person in life who has been my support, pillar, my pillow to cry upon, my advisor, friend?? best friend?? naaa beshtest friend... yupp dats what she is ....Sonaa....god's best gift to me....my bestie sonal...

This goes out to you darling..... as u r advising me on the ways to blog.. asking me to be natural... this is dedicated to u.. the one who makes my life seem so beautiful...
Well we didnt start off on a great note...with our cold wars n inter group rivalries during the awesome junior coll days... but today when I think about all that..I just cant stop thanking god... n imagine how would my life be without you... its very rare that we share such a friendship with people. the kind of understanding we share is amazing...
Few things about YOU....
You are Exceptional!!!!
You score 200/100 on the friendship meter
You make the world a much better place...
Thoughtful,Caring,Lively,Jovial,Queen of Sad Jokes,Loving.... so much more...

I had read somewhere, a friend is someone with whom u can sit quiet for hours and at the end you still feel you had the best conversation in this world!!!.. dats precisely what we share...never felt the need of words .. always knew u would understand even when I didnt say anything...
little things about u dat i find very sweet... the way u care for people, friends strangers alike.. the way u go out to help anyone, the way u love rains... the little things u do to bring a smile on someone's face, the understanding self u r, ur awesome sense of humour ;), the amazing daughter and beshtest friend :)

the day we were returning from my college after my results.. wid me flying high!!! hehehe n here comes the rain... i loved the way we both were soo happy.... loving every drop of the rain... not cared abt the marksheet!!!! enjoying ourselves to the hilt!!!!..... u have made life look so beautiful.. showing me the lighter side when i would be down.. listening to my woes.. sharing my joys... doing crazy stuff together.. the bike ride to worli sea face..... staying quiet whole day.. n suddenly flooded with things to share at the bus stop when its time to leave!!!.. sitting at the bus stop outside Mac D and sharing the little things of life....together giving gaaalis to people who s***... taapofying guys... rating them... :p... amazing memories of college, friends and yeahh our very own Mac D... creating our fundas about life n preaching them to each other... :p...
those little things in life which bring a biiiiiiiiiiig smile on ur face especially when u remember them later... thinking 5 saal baad hum kahan honge.... n realising 5 saal baad bhi hum yahin hai.. aur yahin rahenge.. hamesha...through good times n not so good times.... :)

Friendship is not about being goody goody to each other, laughing n having fun... its all about sharing your life, joys, sorrows, craziness and standing up for them in bad times and say.. Mai Hoon Na...hehehe filmiii me!!!!! :P

love u sona!!!!! muuuaaahhhhhh...
